Like most high performance electronic devices, air ventilation is a necessity, so each design direction for these front panels was sketched with air flow, aesthetics, and functionality in mind. There are 3 things being designed here: A large front panel with a back lit read-out, a small front panel half the size of the large one, & very small removable drives which go inside the units.

Since DataDirect Networks markets to a broad spectrum of corporations, it is important for the design of their products to have an innovative yet professional & functional feel. A diverse spread of 3D models and color studies were generated to allow the company to explore just how their products could look and how these different looks would communicate to the user.
