• Inveon is a revolutionary preclinical imaging platform, providing integrated small animal Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Single Photon Emission Tomography (SPET) and computed tomography (CT) imaging and analysis. It is available as a fully integrated or dockable system with single or multimodality configurations.

Inveon is built on an acquisition architecture which unifies data collection from multiple Modalities. By providing true system integration and solid performance, Inveon takes molecular imaging to a new level.

The Inveon is made up of two main units which can work independently or in tandem. The smaller unit is a dedicated PET device which can be docked to the larger unit which is the multimodality system. In the docked configuration, both systems can operate independently or as a single gantry under the control of a single workstation.

  • A wide array of form studies were performed to best accommodate the functionality of the Scanning units while integrating the welcoming look and feel of a Siemens medical product. Engineering concepts were also drawn out to explore different mechanical solutions for combining the two scanning units to each other.

The More favored form directions were then generated into 3D CAD Models for further evaluation. The remaining design aesthetics and engineering of the units occurred on this level. Siemens chose the final look and direction for the product, and pre-production prototypes were constructed.

Siemens titled the completed system Inveon. It is a preclinical solution which provides a scalable platform, & is capable of performing Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT), Computed Tomography (CT) imaging, & Evaluate treatments that can slow or stop the transition to cancer in preclinical models of diseases.
